Amir Khan’s parents hit back hard in response to Faryal’s Snapchat rant

The Faryal Makhdoom fiasco continues as Amir Khan’s parents have responded to allegations made in a rant by Makhdoom on Snapchat last week. Makhdoom took her users by surprise by stating “Don’t get your sons married if you’re going to abuse and bully the wife. I’ve always been so quiet but seriously, this message is for everyone! When you bring someone’s daughter – treat her as your own. Your son will be much happier and so will you.”

Boxer Amir Khan’s parents Sajjad Khan and Falak Khan have dismissed the allegations in a interview with ‘Geo News’ from their Bolton home. Amir’s father Sajjad said “Faryal was adopting a dress code which in the Islamic faith was not acceptable. I am a father to two daughters whom I have treated exactly the same way as I have treated Faryal.” “All this started with the issue of dressing. We kept asking Amir to tell her not to adopt such a dress code. And even if she had to wear such dresses, please don’t post it on social media.” Falak went on to add “I asked her not to wear such dresses and to take the dupatta (scarf), but she never listened. After that, we asked Amir but he told us to convey this to Faryal’s mother because she does not listen to him either.”

Amir Khan’s parents have expressed disappointment at their son and family being mentioned in news like this and feel the entire family have suffered a great insult. They believe Makhdoom’s Snapchat rant was simply a cheap ploy for publicity.

Makhdoom has since ‘Snapchatted’ another statement stating “You can fake tears. But you can’t fake proof. I have a mother too, who’s cried. Just because she’s done it in the public to look innocent doesn’t mean she doesn’t have heart. Soon I’ll reveal everything. I hate liars! And i will keep speaking up”.

Faryal also posted a graphic nude picture of Amir Khan’s brother Harry stating “my dressing is an issue? Double standards? Like Harry lying naked and drunk at a girls house, sisters wearing no “dupatta” i guess that’s ok because that’s there blood and i’m just a daughter in law”.

The family-wide saga continues. We want to hear your thoughts on this ordeal, do you think her parents are justified in their response? Share your thoughts #BritAsiaTV
