Angelina Jolie filed for divorce and full custody from Brad Pitt in September, 2 years after their wedding. Jolie has made her first appearance since the devastating news in Cambodia promoting her new film “First They Killed My Father”. In an interview with BBC World News, Jolie referred to the process as a “very difficult time”.
The ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’ stars share 6 kids together, “We are a family and we always will be a family, and we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it” she said. Pitt has since been investigated for child abuse due to an alleged incident involving their child Maddox. Jolie discussed how she’s been coping with the situation, “Many, many people find themselves in this situation. My focus is my children, our children and my focus is finding this way through. We are and forever will be a family and so that is how I am coping. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer.” Both of the stars released a statement in January stating “they would continue with divorce proceedings in private from then on”.
