We have an another edition of our summer travel guide! This time we’re exploring Asia and we’ll be looking for the best places, that are slightly off the beaten track.
Beach
The Phillipines are home to a multitude of diverse terrains, such as the tropical rain forest, coral reefs, mountain ranges, beaches, islands. You can not only get a relaxing beach holiday, but also explore the range of natural wonders.
With one of the longest white sand coastlines in the world, the beautiful Phillipines are the perfect place for a tropical getaway. Boracay, El Nido and Panglao Island all perfectly combine sandy beaches, whimsically swaying palm trees and mesmerising turquoise water.
Shopping
Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong is an obvious choice. Bali however, is an interesting city for shopping, with its locally made designer clothing. Local tailors can make beautiful, unique items personally for you. It is also home to some of Indonesia’s most modern malls.
In Kuta, you can find cleverly designed, freeform malls and large complexes just across the road from the beach. Of course, if you want to have a more metropolitan, designer label shopping experience, the go-to places would have to be the urban-jungles of Bangkok or Tokyo!

The little island of Langkawi is another hit, with the vibrant, lively bars to dance the night away! Situated near the beach front, you can easily take a refreshing break from the all the dancing on a perfect sandy beach.
Sights
Asia is a vast, thriving continent full of rich sights and sounds for you to delve into! But for our top pick, we have to say India for some excellent tourist, sight-seeing spots. With the beautiful temples and palaces situated in the midst of urban city life, you can really get the best of both traditional and modern-day India in areas like Rajasthan, Chennai and Hyderabad.
On the other hand, for a complete immersion in the past, visit Hampi. A ghost city and UNESCO World Heritage Site, it brings together architectural wonder, science and history in a fascinating combination.
Family Time
Hong Kong is the perfect place for a family holiday, with food, drink, travel and accommodation being easily navigable. The city is home to a Disneyland, with rides to suit all ages, firework shows over the famous Sleeping Beauty castle and a large fascinating aquarium.
Hong Kong also offers the Ngong Ping 360 cable car on Lantau, the archipelago of 260 islands. You could even get a glass floor Crystal Cabin as you ascend to see the iconic large Buddha statue.
Active and Adventurous
Vietnam is the perfect place for those who love adventure! There are numerous exciting possibilities to tour the country, immerse yourself in Vietnamese life, visit beautiful Buddhist temples and learn about the country’s war history.
You can easily book a cycling holiday down winding roads through the mountainsides, go on a guided walk along the Laos’ Nam Ou river or take a boat tour down UNESCO World Heritage site Halong Bay.
