Bollywood actress Reema Lagoo passes away

Bollywood actress Reema Lagoo, who is famous for playing the role of a “loving mother”, has sadly passed away from a heart attack at the age of 59.

It is reported that Reema was complaining of chest pains and was taken to hospital at around 1 am. She then passed away due to a heart attack at around 3.15 am. In a statement her son-in-law said, “She was perfectly fine and had no health issues…so it is really shocking for all us that she is no more with us.”

The actress started her career in the late 1970s and starred in dozens of hit Bollywood films such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kal Ho Na Ho, Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Koun, as well as appearing in several TV soaps and plays.

Throughout her career Reema had acted alongside Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar to name but a few.

After the news surfaced of the actress’ passing, both fans of the actress and co-stars were quick to take to social media to pay tribute to her career.

Sanjay Dutt, who played Reema’s son in the film Vaastav described the actress’ death as “Deeply Saddening”. He went on to say, “I have lost a mother again today. We worked together in several movies and every time that I worked with her I learnt something new. Her demise has left a void which is difficult to fill. One of the best talents that we had. I truly wish that her soul rests in peace. My prayers and condolences are with the family.”
