Actor Shah Rukh Khan has been invited to guest star in season two of the American detective sci-fi series Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency.
The role was offered when Shah Rukh Khan tweeted about the show which is an adaptation of a book by the same name. He tweeted ‘”Dirk Gently is a TV series!! And I didn’t know it! Woe be upon me. Sorry Adams. The pic is for no apparent reason.” The tweet gained popularity and was recognised by Arvind Ethan David who works as executive producer on the show. David was excited by the tweets and replied: “Amazing to discover that @iamsrk is a #dirkgently fan. Come guest star in #Season2.”
Shah Rukh Khan appears to have taken the offer seriously as his last tweet read: “Let me know the time and place. Will figure out my own accommodation!” The show centres around an eccentric detective who investigates cases that involve the supernatural and features Hollywood actors Samuel Barnett and Elijah Wood. The producer seems enthusiastic about the collaboration, could this could mark the start of Shah Rukh Khan’s American career?
