DREAM GIRL HEMA MALINI HELPS UNVEIL FIRST LOOK AT DAUGHER ESHA DEOL’S SHORT FILM ‘CAKEWALK’

Bollywood’s eternal dream girl Hema Malini, unveiled the poster of her daughter Esha Deol Takhtani’s first short feature film ‘Cakewalk’.

Directed by debutant Ram Kamal Mukherjee and Abhra Chakraborty, the film explores the life of chef Shilpa Sen, played by Esha Deol Takhtai, which is due to be released worldwide in August.

Star of 1975 Bollywood movie Sholay, Hema Malini joined her daughter in London to showcase the movie poster amongst media and friends. The poster has been exclusively shot by fashion photographer Suman Nandi, while Esha was styled by Kareen Punjwani.

Cakewalk Poster

The 22-minute Hindi short marks Esha’s return to Bollywood after taking a break with marriage and motherhood. The film also stars television actor Tarun Malhortra and Bengali actress Anindita Bose.

‘Cakewalk’ has been written by Ram Kamal Mukherjee, who has also written Hema Malini’s autobiography ‘Beyond the Dreamgirl’. Not only is he now making his debut as a director, but is India’s first Power Brand Film Journalist, who has won numerous prestiouguous awards as a verteran Bollywood journalist and as an author in India.

The films deals with an issue that most women across the globe will relate, mostly women from Asian countries. Speaking about the film, Ram Kamal Mukherjee said: “I always wanted to work with Esha because she is a powerhouse of talent, and I would give entire credit to her for bestowing faith in me and my team.”
