Maavan is the first song to be released from the upcoming Punjabi movie ‘Daana Paani’ starring Jimmy Sheirgill and Simi Chahal.
‘Daana Paani’ is due to be released in cinemas in less than a month, and the makers are now revealing more about the eagerly anticipated movie.
The movie based in rural Punjab follows a soldier who falls for an oppressed village girl, with a twist that is sure to grip audiences.
Maavan stays true to the films storyline and takes you back to Punjab in 1962. The soulful song with it’s 60’s inspired folk music suits the movie perfectly.
Sang by the legendary Harbhajan Mann, the lyrics will touch hearts and will unleash all the emotions inside you.
Director of ‘Daana Paani, Tarnvir Singh Jagpal said about Maavan: “While making a period drama, you have to pay attention to the colours and dynamics of the time it is based on. However, emotions are something you cannot play around with.
The relation of a mother with her children is one of the most unconditional and pious love you’ll ever find. Maavan is our tribute to every mother and daughter.”
