Nicki Minaj funds the development of an Indian village

The self-proclaimed queen of rap Nicki Minaj has revealed she has been quietly sending money to a village in India for the past couple of years, helping to provide villagers with access to clean water, computers, reading programmes, tailoring institutes and prayer spaces.

On Saturday, Minaj posted a video on her Instagram that included an Indian man demonstrating one of the newly installed water wells which had been funded through the donations.

The ‘Anaconda’ singer wrote; “This is the kind of thing that makes me feel the most proud. The money I’ve sent to this village in India for the last couple years [via my Pastor Lydia Sloley], has gotten them a Computer Center, a Tailoring Institute, a Reading Program and 2 WATER WELLS.”

She went on to write; “We complain about the most ridiculous little things when some ppl don’t even have clean water. Blessings to India. Our work is far from done.”

The rapper also went on to post another picture, which she captioned; “I’m so proud of our sisters in India. God is so good. Their desire was to have water wells and places where they can worship, places where they can learn technology, computers, reading, etc. We’re just getting started. These women are us and we are them.”

Nicki’s generosity doesn’t end there- earlier this month, she also announced that she plans on setting up a charity to help pay off her fans’ student loans and tuition fees.
