WHY ARE THE BRITASIA TV MUSIC AWARDS IMPORTANT?

On Saturday 6th October, The BritAsia TV Music Awards 2018 were held in the heart of London at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.

Stats from across the world came together for a night of celebration to support upcoming and established talent. These Music Awards sponsored by 4New was a recognition of the incredible talent in the South Asian and British Asian music industry.

The ceremony was hosted by UK singer and actress Preeya Kalidas and Birmingham born Apache Indian. The room was full of stars including the likes of Naughty Boy, Steel Banglez, Tru Skool, Seema Jaswal, Kulvindr Ghir, Monty Panesar and many more.

On our dazzling red carpet, we caught up with many of well-known guests to ask them, why the BritAsia TV Music Awards are important for the industry.

Speaking to Music Producer Naughty Boy, he told us that the awards are good for the scene, and lets everyone know who is upcoming and is important to know who is doing what.

Fellow Music Producer Steel Banglez added, that the awards are essential to the culture, as there isn’t many platforms that are showcasing British Asian talent and the awards are vital to the scene.

The host of the night, Apache Indian, also said the awards give the industry an infrastructure that it needs, and is great to see artists from all around the world in one room.

Canadian born singer Raghav, who shot to fame in the UK said the music awards are one of the most important dates of the year, and said the UK is the birthplace of his career and many other artist careers in India and around the world.
