‘Babe Bhangra Paunde Ne’ director Amarjit Singh Saron: Diljit Dosanjh is a director’s actor

The Punjabi hitmaker who’s given some record-breaking blockbusters in the North film industry, Amarjit Singh Saron is eagerly looking forward to the release of his next ‘Babe Bhangra Paunde Ne’ slated to release this Dusshera.

With hit movies like ‘Honsla Rakh’, ‘Kala Shah Kala’, Amarjit emerges as one of the most prominent directors in the Punjabi movie industry who began the trend of massive box office collections that would give some of our Bollywood directors a run for their money. His upcoming comedy film, ‘Babe Bhangra Paunde Ne’ stars the youth sensation Diljit Dosanjh who had earlier been a part of the director’s ‘Honsla Rakh’ that made news across India starring Shehnaz Gill as his leading lady.

Teaming up with Diljit for the second time in a row, Amarjit shares, “Diljit Bha ji is a powerhouse of talent. With an enormous fanbase worldwide, Diljit’s enthusiasm for his work is childlike, he’s curious, he is dedicated and the best part is, he does not let his success take over his head. It is so easy to direct him, for he exactly knows what I want and how I want it. People love him for his impeccable comic timing and which is why he was a perfect fit for the film. I have had a great time working with him again and this time around, we hope to break all the previous records.”

Talking about his camaraderie, “I think what makes everything easier, as a director, I often trust my actor’s instincts and take timely feedback. It is after all teamwork. Diljit Dosanjh is a director’s actor. I feel if the director and actor are on the same page, it shows, that success is guaranteed and I have ‘Honsla Rakh’s box office collection as a live example.’

In the north scene, ‘Babe Bhangra Paunde Ne’ starring Diljit Dosanjh and Sargun Mehta is touted as one of the most anticipated films. The movie, a satire revolves around the consequences surrounding a fake life insurance policy to be claimed for which they are on the hunt for an elderly man & wait for his death. The film is a family entertainer. Amarjit’s previous superhit rom-com ‘Honsla Rakh’ was also instrumental in bringing Punjabi cinema to the forefront of national interest.
