Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17: A Sci-Fi Spectacle Starring Robert Pattinson

Academy Award-winning director Bong Joon Ho (Parasite) is set to take audiences on a mind-bending journey with his upcoming sci-fi film, Mickey 17.

Adapted from Edward Ashton’s novel Mickey7, this visionary project marks Bong’s return to speculative sci-fi after groundbreaking works like Snowpiercer and Okja.

At the heart of the story is Mickey Barnes (played by Robert Pattinson), an “expendable” crew member on a high-stakes space mission. As part of his unique job, Mickey is tasked with the riskiest assignments, knowing he can be regenerated if he dies – with most of his memories intact. But when one of his regenerations goes disastrously wrong, Mickey finds himself at odds with the unrelenting demands of an employer who expects nothing less than ultimate sacrifice.

Joining Pattinson is a stellar cast that includes Naomi Ackie (The Rise of Skywalker), Steven Yeun (Nope), Toni Collette (Hereditary), and Mark Ruffalo (Poor Things). Bong Joon Ho not only directs but also pens the screenplay, with production by Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner (Oscar winners for Moonlight and 12 Years a Slave), along with Bong himself.

The film’s creative powerhouse includes cinematographer Darius Khondji (Bardo), production designer Fiona Crombie (The Favourite), and composer Jung Jaeil (Parasite, Squid Game). With visual effects supervised by Dan Glass (Fantastic Beasts) and costume design by Catherine George (Snowpiercer), Mickey 17 promises to be a cinematic feast for the senses. Watch the trailer now:
