BritAsia TV Returns to Sky in Full HD on Channel 742
A New Era Begins as BritAsia TV Returns to Sky in Stunning HD
We’re delighted to announce that BritAsia TV is officially back on Sky, marking one of the biggest milestones in our history. From today, viewers across the UK can watch us on Sky channel 742, with BritAsia TV becoming the first British South Asian broadcaster to be carried in full HD on Sky Stream and Sky Glass.
This is far more than a return. It marks the beginning of a new chapter built around higher quality, greater accessibility and an even stronger commitment to serving audiences across the UK and beyond.
Built for the Future
After an 18-month absence from the Sky platform, we made a conscious decision not to simply return using the same standard-definition technology that had carried the channel for more than 18 years.
Instead, we invested in rebuilding and upgrading our broadcast infrastructure so that every music video, interview, entertainment show, cultural programme and live event can now be enjoyed in the picture quality our viewers deserve.
Our return to Sky represents a significant investment in the future of BritAsia TV and reflects our ongoing ambition to continue raising the standard of British South Asian broadcasting.
Tony Shergill, Chief Executive of BritAsia TV, said:
“Returning to Sky in full HD is a proud moment for everyone who has been part of BritAsia TV’s journey over the past eighteen years. We took the decision to move away from the older standard-definition technology because our audience deserves better, and our content deserves to be seen at its best. This is a return built on real investment in our infrastructure, and on a clear vision to keep raising the quality of what we deliver to viewers across the UK. Sky has always been our home, and we are delighted to be back.”
Growing Beyond the UK
Our return to Sky follows an exciting period of international expansion.
Earlier this year, BritAsia TV launched across India on JioTV, extending our reach to more than 220 million householdsand marking the biggest expansion in our history.
The launch has strengthened our position as a bridge between the UK and India, creating new opportunities to showcase British South Asian talent while expanding access to entertainment and cultural programming across both markets.
As part of this continued growth, we’ll soon begin delivering exclusive India-led programming, bringing audiences even closer to the artists, musicians, actors and storytellers shaping today’s entertainment landscape.
Speaking about this vision, Tony Shergill added:
“India represents an enormous opportunity, not just in scale but in the creative connection it opens up. We want BritAsia TV to be the bridge that carries our artists, actors and storytellers between Britain and India, and the exclusive programming we will be bringing to our viewers is only the beginning of that ambition.”
Expanding Across Television, Radio and Digital
Our growth hasn’t stopped with television.
BritAsia DAB Radio is now broadcasting nationally across the UK, expanding our reach even further and strengthening our commitment to delivering the very best in British South Asian music, entertainment and culture.
Together with our television platform, mobile apps and international distribution, we’re continuing to build a connected media network that celebrates British South Asian creativity across multiple platforms.
