Brown Girl’s Guide To Brown Lips: High Street

Kiran gives BritAsia TV viewers an insight into her favourite high-street lipstick! This is the first of a three part series.

High-Street: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream-

I have been loving the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream’s for so long, simply because you cannot go wrong with a good, old matte lip! I absolutely adore the NYX Matte Lip cream range, they are so affordable, the range of colours is immense and finally the names of the colours are so cute – each lip cream has been named after a City!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream – ‘Stockholm’, ‘London’

My favourite combination from my NYX collection has to be the Soft Matte Lip Creams in the shades ‘London’ and ‘Stockholm’. The shade ‘London’ is a really cool toned brown colour, which I personally find washes me out, hence I pair it with ‘Stockholm’ which is a pink under-toned brown, together these make the most neutral looking brown for me, which actually compliments olive skin tones! Unlike my other lip combinations, I don’t actually use a liner with these, as I find that the application is so easy I don’t really need it. I, just tend to layer both colours on and blend it all together with a clean lip brush – just check out the results below!

Honestly, I think that the NYX lip creams are the best matte lipsticks on the high-street, they’re so affordable, and the finish is so good for a matte lip! I’m always scared that matte lips are going to dry my lips out, crack and just make my lips look so chapped. However, with the NYX lip creams this is not the case. The colour lasts on your lips for up to 8 hrs (yes I have tested that) and doesn’t make my lips crack at all. Minimum effort, maximum result!

I would definitely recommend this range of matte lipsticks to anyone, looking for affordable, good quality matte lipsticks – they’re cheap, good quality and now that Boots sell them in the UK, they are also very easy to access!
