The Indian film industry is mourning the loss of one of its greatest icons. Dharmendra affectionately known as Bollywood’s “He-Man” passed away on 24 November 2025 in Mumbai at the age of 89. His departure marks the end of an era that shaped Indian cinema for more than six decades.

In recent weeks, Dharmendra had been under medical care following age-related health complications. Despite treatment and moments of improvement, he passed away peacefully in Mumbai surrounded by family members.
Tributes have poured in from across the world, reflecting the magnitude of his influence. His wife, veteran actress Hema Malini, expressed her grief through a heartfelt message, saying:
“The loss is indescribable. I am left with countless memories to cherish for life.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tribute, acknowledging the actor’s contributions to Indian culture and entertainment over nearly seven decades.
