Find out why there were two female priests at Arjun Kanungo and Carla Dennis’s wedding ceremony

We were the first to tell you that singer-composer Arjun Kanungo will be tying the knot with his fiancée, model-actor Carla Dennis on August 10. The couple got married in a traditional ceremony at a hotel in Mumbai in the presence of family and close friends. While Arjun sported an ivory sherwani, Carla donned an elegant, red lehenga with statement jewellery. Two female priests performed the wedding rituals. While one conducted the ceremony, the other translated and explained the customs to Carla and her family, who hail from South Africa.

The guests were treated to authentic Indian cuisine comprising dishes from Rajasthan, Gujarat and Goa, along with some traditional desserts like ghewar and rabdi jalebi. The mehendi ceremony took place on August 9, which was attended by Bobby Deol, among others. It was followed by the wedding on Wednesday. Last night, the newlyweds hosted a lavish reception for their friends from the industry. While it’s a wrap as far as the wedding festivities in India are concerned, in our last interaction, Arjun opened up about a white wedding, which is in store next year. He had said, “We will be hosting it in April 2023 in the UK. This is for Carla and her near and dear ones.”

Meanwhile, as he posted his wedding pictures on his social media, Arjun wrote, “In the presence of our families and our closest friends, Carla and I got married yesterday. My words cannot express how much love we received and how special the day was for us. This part of our journey is just beginning and we feel lucky to share it with the people in our lives. We ask for your blessing, as we begin this new chapter.”
