Gurinder Chadha To Direct Disney’s First Musical Film Based On Indian Princess

Popular filmmaker Gurinder Chadha known for films like ‘Bend It Like Beckham’, ‘Bride And Prejudice’ and others is all set to direct Disney’s first musical film based on Indian Princess.

Actually, it has been reported by a leading daily that the franchise of Disney Princess is about to take the desi route with the original musical feature.

A story on ‘dynamic princess’ from the Indian history will be directed by Gurinder who has also co-written the screenplay with Paul Mayeda Berges. According to reports, the film will be produced by The Nutcracker and the Four Realms producer Lindy Goldstein while President of the Walt Disney Motion Picture Production, Sean Bailey would head the project.

For the unversed, Gurinder is a two-time BAFTA nominee for her work on ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ and for her debut film ‘Bhaji on the Beach’. In addition to a BAFTA nomination for Best British Film, Bend It Like Beckham also received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Picture (Musical or Comedy) and a Writers Guild of America nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
