Harpreet Singh becomes the first-ever Punjabi to win the WBC Asian Super Middleweight Championship, marking a groundbreaking moment for Indian boxing and global Punjabi pride.
Bangkok, October 20, 2025 – In a defining moment for Punjab and India, Harpreet Singh has etched his name into sporting history by becoming the first-ever Punjabi boxer to win a WBC Asian title. Singh, representing Lions MMA and Boxing Punjab, captured the WBC Asian Super Middleweight Championship after a stunning knockout victory over defending champion Tyson Ping Tai Ng of Hong Kong.
The 10-round title fight, held at The Bazaar Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, saw Singh dominate from the opening bell. With his powerful combinations and relentless determination, he knocked down Ping Tai twice in the second round before the referee stopped the fight, awarding Singh a TKO victory and crowning him WBC Asian Champion.
The historic event was organised by Inderpal Singh of Lions MMA and Brijesh Meena of CSM Promotions, under the banner of the AUM Academy Group.
