Jameela Jamil Announces Twitter Exit Following Elon Musk Takeover

Jameela Jamil has announced she will leave Twitter after Elon Musk purchased the social media platform on Tuesday.

Elon Musk’s £34.5 billion offer to buy Twitter yesterday (25 April) means the company will be privately owned going forward.

But despite the Tesla CEO urging his “worst critics” to stay on Twitter, it seems as though some stars are deactivating their accounts indefinitely.

Former The Good Place actress Jamil is among said ‘critics’ — after announcing she will exit the platform due to fears of how the digital environment will change after Musk dominates.

“Ah he got Twitter,” Jamil tweeted alongside four images of herself with her dog. “I would like this to be my what lies here as my last tweet. Just really any excuse to show pics of Barold.”

“I fear this free speech bid is going to help this hell platform reach its final form of totally lawless hate, bigotry, and misogyny. Best of luck,” she concluded her tweet.

Jamil had previously foreshadowed her plans to stop using the platform if Musk’s acquisition succeeded.
