Kesari Chapter 2 Character Posters Unveiled: A Legal Battle That Shook an Empire

A courtroom. A clash of ideologies. A moment that shook the British Empire.

The cinematic drumroll for Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh has officially begun with the unveiling of its powerful character posters. Jointly produced by Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, and Leo Media Collective, and helmed by director Karan Singh Tyagi, this historical courtroom drama promises to be one of 2025’s most compelling cinematic events.

At the centre of the storm is Akshay Kumar, stepping into the formidable shoes of Sankaran Nair — a lawyer who dared to speak truth to power during one of the darkest episodes of colonial India: the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. His portrayal is expected to be both searing and stirring, reflecting a man who risked it all to challenge the might of the British Raj.

Joining him is Ananya Panday in a surprising and refreshing turn as Dilreet Gill, a young, principled lawyer with fire in her conviction. Her character embodies the new generation of resistance — educated, relentless, and deeply rooted in justice.

But every hero needs a worthy adversary. Enter R. Madhavan as Neville McKinley — “sharp, fearless, undeniable… but playing for the other side.” His character hints at a morally complex antagonist, adding rich texture to what is shaping up to be a battle not just of evidence, but of ideologies.

Based on The Case That Shook the Empire by Pushpa Palat and Raghu Palat, the film digs deep into the trial that followed the Jallianwala Bagh massacre — a moment where the scales of justice were both heavy and historic.

What sets Kesari Chapter 2 apart is its artistic audacity. The recently released teaser avoids bombast in favour of psychological intrigue. It’s a cinematic whisper that echoes louder than a scream — letting the audience imagine the fury and tension of colonial courtrooms rather than spelling it out.

Scheduled to release globally on 18th April 2025 and distributed internationally by Moviegoers Entertainment, Kesari Chapter 2 doesn’t just tell a story — it revives a revolution, one argument at a time.

This is not just history. It’s heritage, on trial.
