London celebrates Hindi Language

Hindi is India’s national language and over 425 million people have claimed it to be their native tongue. It is also the official language of India. It’s popularity has sparked a three day celebration in London which coincides with the 10th anniversary of Pravasi Sansar, a hindi magazine.


London has never seen this scale of hindi writers and poets all in one place. The event started by honouring Hindi writers in the House of Commons. The celebration was well attended by Hindi writers, poets and politicians. The three day event taking place at such locations as the ‘Nehru Centre’ was electric with lots Hindi related discussions. panels, poetry and general meetings of like minded individuals.
