The Panjab Warriors paid tribute to the resilience shown across the club during this turbulent period, singling out both playing and non-playing staff for their “true integrity and togetherness.”

Supporters were also praised for their passion and commitment, which proved instrumental in helping secure the club’s future. The owners highlighted the role of the Shrimps Trust, commending former chair Tarnia Elsworth and current leader Patrick Stoyles for uniting fans into “one very strong robust voice” that was vital in reaching this historic outcome.

“We are truly proud of the response of all, both young and old, who have shown such amazing strength of character in the face of adversity. All at Panjab Warriors deem themselves very fortunate to be given this opportunity to integrate with such an amazing fan base,” the statement read.

The new ownership also extended thanks to political figures who supported Morecambe FC’s plight in recent months. Special appreciation was given to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, Lisa Nandy MP (Secretary of State for Culture, Media, and Sport), and especially Lizzi Collinge MP, who raised the club’s situation in Parliament and consistently fought for its survival.

Looking ahead, Panjab Warriors set out a clear ambition: to rebuild Morecambe FC into a modern, competitive football club that can return to the English Football League (EFL).

The Shrimps had proudly competed in the EFL for 18 years before relegation, and the owners made clear that regaining League Two status remains the long-term target.

However, they admitted that immediate promotion may be a challenge due to the recent off-field turbulence. Instead, the short-term focus will be on fielding a competitive side and laying solid foundations for sustainable growth.

“Our initial aim was to challenge for direct promotion back to League Two, but given the events of the last couple of months, we understand this will be difficult to achieve this season. The priority now is to ensure we have a competitive team and rebuild the foundations,” they added.

The arrival of Panjab Warriors marks the beginning of a new journey for Morecambe – one rooted in resilience, community, and ambition. With strong ownership, political backing, and one of the most passionate fan bases in English football, the club now has the platform to rise again.
