Netflix has released the trailer for the family comedy, Sardar Ka Grandson, starring Arjun Kapoor, Neena Gupta and Rakul Preet Singh.
After it was announced in March 2021 that Netflix would premier Sardar Ka Grandson, the streaming giant has finally released the trailer for the family film.
The comedy, starring Arjun Kapoor alongside Neena Gupta and Rakul Preet Singh, follows a devoted grandson’s (Kapoor) mission to reunite his ailing grandmother with her ancestral home, which turns into a complicated, comic cross-border affair.
It also features Soni Razdan and Divya Seti, with John Abraham and Aditi Rao Hydari, who will be making a cameo in the film.
In the trailer, we meet Neena Gupta as Sardar who asks her grandson (Kapoor) to take her to her ancestral home in Lahore to fulfil her final wishes. In turn, she will make him CEO of her business. But when permissions to take Sardar to Lahore are denied, he decides to move the ancestral home to Amritsar — in a quirky yet sentimental turn of events. It’s no homecoming; rather, home is coming.

The film has been directed by Kaashvie Nair and written by Anuja Chauhan. It has been produced by John Abraham under his company John Abraham Entertainment, along with Emmay Entertainment and T-Series.
Speaking in a statement about the opportunity to work with a talented cast, Kapoor said: “Working alongside such a talented ensemble cast was an enriching experience for me. We are hoping that the story will resonate with people across the globe with the raw and real emotions that it shows through a loving grandmother-son relationship.”
The film was originally scheduled for theatrical release this summer, but producer Bhushan Kumar decided for a digital release since he believed, “the film should reach the audience for whom it is made. The medium doesn’t matter.”
Sardar Ka Grandson premiers exclusively on Netflix on 18 May 2021.
