Out Now: ‘Sohni Kuri’ by Afro B x Bambi Bains

Afro B and Bambi Bains have collaborated to produce the first English, African and Indian fusion track, Sohni Kuri, in a bid to break cultural barriers.

Beautiful Girl is Afro B’s first foray into a new music genre outside of his African heritage through his collaboration with British-Indian artist, Bambi Bains.

A figurehead in Afrowave sound sweeping the UK, London artist Afro B makes music that fuses unique combinations of dancehall, hip hop, Reggae and Amapiano.

Speaking about the cosmopolitan capital and his collaboration with Bambi, Afro B said: “London is made up of so many different backgrounds and we wanted to create a song that appealed to everyone regardless of background or ethnicity whilst embodying elements of each culture. I’ve really enjoyed learning about new sounds.”

Bains added: “Ive always been a big fan of Afro Beats music and Afro B is an artist I have always wanted to work with. It’s been so much fun to work with him and we are really happy with the sound we have created.”

The Khayaal singer took to social media on 2 February to promote upcoming her music video for Sohni Kuri, which is out now.

Khayaal, which released in May 2021, saw the song featured across a number of Spotify playlists including New Music Friday, R&B UK, Riffs and Runs, Spotify and Chill, New Music Punjab and Women of Punjabi Pop.

Afro B has been instrumental in creating an addictive new genre that has dominated clubs and radio shows worldwide. Whether singing Kizomba love songs, rapping on bass-heavy hip hop tracks or lacing uptempo Afro-dance tracks with classic sing-a-long hooks, Afro B has dedicated himself to pushing his sound forward, creating hit after hit along the way.

Bains is one of the UK’s most exciting new emerging talent of 2022. She has recently signed a deal with Sony Publishing and is set to embark on her first UK tour in February this year to support one of India’s leading artists, AP Dhillon.
