Punjabi Industry Pays Tribute to Singer Makhan Singh Johal

Music artists have taken to their social media to pay their tributes to singer of 4×4 Bhangra group, Makhan Singh Johal, who sadly passed away on the 13th May.

4×4 Bhangra shared the news via Twitter, with the caption: “Our older brother and senior member #MakhanSinghJohal sadly passed away in the early hours of today. May Waheguru provide solace and support to all his family and friends at this most difficult of times. Paji you will never be forgotten and will live forever in our hearts🙏💔.”

 

Co-founder of 4×4 Bhangra, Suki Randhawa shared a video a few days ago, of Mr Makhan Singh Johal celebrating his birthday with family and friends, including Jazzy B, captioning the post: “Woke up this morning to hear this sad news #MakhanSinghJohal sadly passed away, he dedicated his life to #Bhangra #Kabaddi and #CommunityWork. May parji Rest in Peace and you will be missed🙏This is how we want to remember parji at his special birthday”.

Punjabi music artists such as Jazzy B retweeted the video, and expressed his thoughts: “Sorry to hear the sad news😢he was always positive energy always smiling R.I.P #makahnsinghjohal aka young man🙏”. Jassi Sidhu also paid tribute, by tweeting: “So sorry to hear, uncle was an amazing soul, waheguru🙏”. 

Babbu Maan shared an emotional post on Instagram, expressing his grief over the loss of Makhan:

Kumar Heera expressed his condolences, sharing a picture of him and Makhan, with the caption: “We have lost a great person, great soul, great brother. Only three days ago we spoke on the phone full of life asking about my well-being, bhaji you will be missed forever. May waheguru grant you place in his kingdom RIP.”

Makhan Singh Johal was a pillar both within the Punjabi music community, and the UK Kabaddi community.
