Real Madrid’s epic comeback against Manchester City in Champions League semi-final to set up a Championship Final against Liverpool

Real Madrid was trailing 5-3 in the 90th minute of the match until added time. Rodrygo scored an astonishing 2 goals in 90 seconds, bringing the score to a tie. This sent the game into extra time with a dramatic score of 5-5.

In the 5th minute of extra time, Karim Benzema brought the score up to 6-5 with a penalty to secure the win against Manchester City. At the end of the first half at extra time, Manchester City’s Fernandinho came close to instigating a penalty shoot-out.

However, in the heat of the moment, Fernandinho put a chance wide at the back post, therefore missing the opportunity to make it to back-to-back Champions League Finals.

Real Madrid will be competing against Liverpool in the Champions League Finals on Saturday 28th May in Paris.

The final will be played at the Stade de France, which is in the Saint-Denis district of northern Paris.

It was due to have been played in St. Petersburg but was moved after Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine earlier this year.

Liverpool has never played at the Stade de France, which was built in 1998 in time for the World Cup and has a capacity of 75,000 for the final.

Liverpool won the European Cup in Paris in 1981, at the Parc des Princes stadium – against Real Madrid.

The Stade de France hosted the 2006 Champions League final, in which Barcelona won 2-1 against Arsenal.
