Sidhu Moosewala killing: Gangster Deepak Tinu fled from CIA

Deepak alias Tinu, an accused in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, escaped from police custody on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. A staff of the Central Investigation Agency (CIA) was taking him to Mansa from Kapurthala jail at around 11 pm in his private vehicle when the gangster took the opportunity to escape.

Others have reported that CIA in-charge Pritpal Singh took him alone in his private Brezza car from the Mansa CIA office around 11 pm on Saturday to his official residence in a posh area in Mansa, where Tinu was left alone to meet his girlfriend in a room.

Pritpal Singh went to another room and slept, while Tinu, along with his friend, escaped from the spot. However, senior police officials are tightlipped over the issue and have not yet confirmed it.

Deepak is a close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, the mastermind behind Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder. His name was on the charge sheet that listed 15 people who were shooters, masterminds and others involved in the murder.

He was brought to Punjab by the Delhi Police on a production warrant. Saturday night’s incident is the fourth time that he escaped the police.

Earlier too, Deepak was behind bars in the Ambala Central jail in 2017 when he made a daring escape by using pepper spray in the eyes of a police official. He escaped when he was brought to a hospital for a medical check-up.

Security officials are on the lookout for the gangster who has a history of scaring people by showing them murder videos.

Singer and politician Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29. He was shot dead a day after the state government curtailed his security cover. His cousin and a friend, who were travelling in a jeep with him, were also injured in the attack.
