BIRMINGHAM, UK – 4 August, 2025 – A powerful cultural celebration is about to unfold in the heart of Birmingham. Spirit of Pakistan, a seven-day national event honouring the contributions of British Pakistanis, will officially launch on Friday, 8th August 2025, and run until 15th August 2025.
With over 1.6 million British Pakistanis making up the UK’s second-largest ethnic minority, this event shines a spotlight on their dynamic impact across public life, business, politics, culture, sports, and the arts.

A Star-Studded Launch to Set the Tone
The celebration begins with an exclusive launch dinner in Birmingham, attended by high-profile guests including the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, the Mayor of the West Midlands, the Pakistan High Commissioner, Members of Parliament, and leaders across the civic, business, academic, and public sectors.
Showcasing Heritage and Future Talent
While British Pakistanis are often acknowledged for their roles in public service and enterprise, Spirit of Pakistan is determined to give due recognition to their influence in creative industries, heritage, and sport. The event will highlight both established icons and emerging talent, bridging generations and narratives.
“This is a powerful platform to showcase the creativity, resilience, and unique identity of British Pakistanis,” said Bukhtawar Mir, Head of Chancery at the Pakistan Consulate in Birmingham.
Cllr Waseem Zaffar MBE JP, Chair of Spirit of Pakistan, added, “We’re proud to host this celebration in Birmingham, a city that’s not just centrally located but home to one of the largest Pakistani communities in the UK. This is our chance to celebrate a vibrant legacy that has long deserved more national recognition.”
