2016 has seen the loss of some of the world’s finest talents and stars. Here is a list of some of the biggest losses of 2016.
Bowie who was aged just 69 when the rock legend was announced dead after battling cancer for 18 months. The ‘Spaceman’ passed away just days after releasing his 25h album.
Sir Terry Wogan
Terry Wogan who was better known for being a presenter on such shows as the Eurovision Contest, passed away at the age of 77 after battling with cancer. He was a British icon and loved by many.
Alan Rickman died at the beginning of 2016 after battling with cancer. The star was known for his roles in such films as Harry Potter and Die Hard.
He was described as being one of the best musicians and songwriters in the world. Prince died at the age of just 57. The star wrote such hits as ‘Purple Rain’ and ‘Nothing Compares To You’.
The boxing heavyweight champion of the world, Muhammed Ali died at the age of 74. The icon suffered from parkinson’s disease for 35 years and passed away in hospital after having respiratory issues.
Famously known for his role as Willy Wonka, Gene Wilder passed away at age 83 after complications with Alzheimers disease. The comedian was known for his role in such movies as ‘See No Evil, Hear No Evil’ and ‘Young Frankenstein’.
Leonard Cohen was known for writing one of the greatest songs of all time, Hallelujah. His music spanned over five decades. The songwriter and musician passed away at the age of 82.
The singer who started his career in pop group ‘Wham’ passed away peaceful at his home at the age of 53. The star was famously known for such songs as ‘Careless Whisper’ and ‘Faith’.
Carrie Fisher was better known for her iconic role in the Star Wars franchise as Princess Leia. The star passed away after suffering a heart attack on a flight. She was later announced dead at a hospital, she was 60 years old.
