The Weeknd and Daft Punk team up for ‘Starboy’

After dominating the charts with the single Get Lucky in 2013, Daft Punk are back! This time they collaborate with chart-topping, hit-making singer-songwriter The Weeknd, coming together for Starboy – the first single from The Weeknd’s highly anticipated album of the same name – which is all set to drop on 25th November!

On Wednesday 21st September, The Weeknd teased fans of his new album by revealing the name and cover art of the new album via his Twitter page. Eagled-eyed fans of The Weeknd also spotted the artist sporting a new haircut, which looks like he has cut off his famous long dreads.

This was shortly followed by the album being available to pre-order.

The collaboration between Daft Punk and The Weeknd was first teased late last month by Wendy Goldstein, EVP of the Weeknd’s label Republic Records – who confirmed rumours of a collaboration between them.

“Actually, we have a session coming up in two days… with The Weeknd and Daft Punk”.
”I’ve always been a massive Daft Punk fan, and this is the first time that I’ve actually been involved with an artist who’s going to go and work with them.”

The Weeknd is still riding high off the success of his sophomore smash Beauty Behind the Madness, which sold over 2 million copies and spawned the chart-topper ‘Can’t Feel My Face’. That success of his sophomore album propelled him to become the Billboard Music Awards 2016’s biggest winner, as he took home a massive eight gongs in total.
