Watch: NHS Video Encourages South Asian Communities to Consider Covid Vaccinations

With South Asian and Black communities less likely to have the COVID-19 vaccine, we hear the motivational messages from these community members who took up the jab, despite initial concerns.

In the video, personal trainer and fitness coach Kiran Virdee, asthma patient Karan Singh Duggal and Rani Daljit Malik share their personal reasons for receiving the vaccination.

The campaign aims to bolster confidence in vaccine uptake among the South Asian and Black communities, who have been ambivalent about the efficacy and effects of it since rumours early on within their communities.

If you’re yet to have your vaccine, speak to vaccinated friends and family about their experience. People who have been invited by their GP or the NHS to get the COVID-19 vaccine – including those who have previously declined – can arrange their vaccination by logging on to the national booking service at www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination.

Anyone unable to book online can call 119 free of charge, anytime between 7am and 11pm seven days a week. COVID-19 vaccinations can be booked without an NHS number.
