Anushka Sharma Releases Statement After Media Captures Daughter Vamika on Camera

Anushka Sharma has released a statement after her daughter, Vamika’s face was revealed in a picture for the first time in one year.

The image comes after Virat Kohli’s Indian cricket team played against South Africa at Cape Town on Sunday (23 January), where his wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika cheered for him from the stands.

Within seconds of said moment, Vamika’s face was visible who was seen smiling and clapping as well. Dressed in a pink frock with two ponytails, her photos instantly went viral on social media.

The broadcaster of the match captured that moment in his camera, thereby revealing baby Vamika’s face for the first time to the world. Given that Virat and Anushka have been extremely protective about Vamika’s privacy, fans reacted quickly in support of their cricket and Bollywood icons.

Following the leak, Anushka took to Instagram Stories to request the images not be further circulated: “Hi guys! We realise that our daughter’s images were captured at the stadium yesterday and widely shared thereafter. We want to inform everyone that we were caught off guard and didn’t know that the camera was on us.

Her statement continues, “Our stance and request on the matter stay the same. We would really appreciate (it) if Vamika’s images are not clicked/published for reasons we have explained earlier. Thank you.”

The couple have still not officially revealed a picture of Vamika’s face since her birth was announced in January, 2021 and they request that the media abstain from circulating the photo further.

On the film front, Anushka will be next seen in Jhulan Goswami biopic, Chakda Xpress on Netflix
