Legendary musician Davinderpal Kalsi passed away today.
The tabla player was an influential figure apart of 80’s and 90’s mega band Apna Sangeet (later called Apna Group).
The son of Davinderpal Kalsi shared a personal message on instagram saying:
“…It is with a heavy heart I write these words today in the early hours my father Davinderpal Kalsi has passed away, Today the world has lost a one of the most talented musicians and kind and giving person. He was father and a brother to his band members of Apna Sangeet. A uncle and grandparent to his family here and abroad. But to me he was my father, my rock and my inspiration to succeed. The person who I wanted to make proud of all that I have achieved. He made me strive to do better and to never give up. My mother and I were at his bedside when he left this world. I know he is at peace now and with his brothers and my late wife Geeta Devi Kalsi who will look after him and love him in heaven as she did in life. I’m a broken 
person right now and I dont know how I’m going to live without you in my life but I promise to keep making you proud…”
Lead singer of Apna Sangeet Sardara Gill shared “…Very sad day today our brother Davinderpal kalsi of Apna Sangeet has sadly passed away he was a great tabla player and above all a wonderful person my condolences to his family he will always be in our hearts may he rest in peace…”
While Dipps Bhamrah (Son of the Lead Singer Ks Bhamrah and also former band member) shared the following message:
“…Waking up to the news that one of my biggest musical influences, a life influence and someone I had so much fun with has passed away … Uncle Davinderpal Kalsi
