A new British Muslim comedy, ‘Count Abdulla’, will be releasing on steaming platform ITVX.
The series follows Abdulla Khan – a mid-twenties British-Pakistani Muslim doctor stuck in an identity crisis, caught between his religious mother and his secular, hedonistic friends. But when Abdulla is bitten by a vampire he suddenly becomes the outsider’s outsider. Arian Nik (The Bay) is cast as Abdulla Khan alongside Jaime Winstone (Four Lives) as Kathy.
The six episode series is written by Kaamil Shah and directed by Asim Abbasi (Churails).
‘Count Abdulla’ releases on 15th June 2023.
