Dave Chappelle was attacked onstage by Isaiah Lee, on Tuesday night. Lee ran up and tackled the comedian during a performance in Los Angeles just as he was about to leave. The comedian was performing at the “Dave Chappelle and Friends” show, which was part of the Netflix Is A Joke Festival.
Security guards intervened and pulled Lee off the comedian before being detained. They said Lee sustained superficial injuries during the altercation and was taken to a hospital.
The suspect pointed a replica handgun that contained a knife blade at Chappelle, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said. It has been said by the LAPD that Chappelle was not injured in the attack.
