Daler Mehndi on Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder: ‘He shouldn’t have gone without security’

The 28-year-old singer-politician was shot dead on Sunday, a day after Punjab Police withdrew his security cover. “He shouldn’t have gone without security,” Mehndi said while reacting to the shocking incident.

The spine-chilling murder of Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala has sent shock waves across the country. The 28-year-old singer was shot dead in broad daylight on Sunday when he was travelling in his jeep near Punjab’s Mansa. The assailants reportedly fired more than 20 rounds at the singer and his two friends. Sidhu was declared dead at a nearby hospital.
Several political leaders and celebrities have reacted to the shocking incident and mourned the rapper’s death. Some have even condemned the Punjab government and questioned the state’s law and order.

Now, popular Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi has reacted to the murder. In an interview, the musician mourned the death of Sidhu and also spoke about the killing that took place a day after his security was withdrawn.
Daler revealed that he was performing in Agra when he learned about the extremely saddening incident. When the singer was asked if he would blame the Punjab Police for withdrawing security, he said, “his happened as soon as the security cover was removed. I think in this… What should be said now? Who is at fault? I think when his security cover was removed, he should not have gone alone so soon despite knowing that he is getting so many threats. So, this too was a big mistake”
