Deepika Padukone leaves for Cannes on jury duty

After slaying her way into her fan’s hearts with her Cannes appearances, Deepika Padukone is all set to represent India at the 75th Cannes Film Festival as a jury member. The actress is a part of a eight-member jury at the 75th edition of the prestigious film festival which reviews and rewards films. Deepika is now resuming her duties there as she was spotted leaving Mumbai last night. The actress is heading towards the French Riviera.

The Cannes 2022 jury will be presided by French actor Vincent Lindon. Other names to join Deepika Padukone on the jury include Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi, Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, actress screenwriter producer Rebecca Hall, Italian actress Jasmine Trinca, French director Ladj Ly, American director Jeff Nichols and director Joachim Trier from Norway.

The jury comprises five men and four women, who will pick the winners of this year’s Palme d’Or honours. Together, they will review the best global films that look to push the creative envelope, enhance the development of cinema and promote the development of the global film industry.

According to reports, Deepika will be making her big appearance at Cannes this year, as part of her collaboration with Louis Vuitton, a French luxury fashion house and company. Moreover, the actress has also been signed as one of the global ambassadors of the brand and her Instagram feed is already a proof of her association with the popular luxury house.
