Love Island’s Jacques O’Neill has sensationally quit the show in scenes which are yet to be televised.
And the hunk, 23, can be seen breaking down in tears in a first look clip which was released ahead of Tuesday night’s episode, during an emotional chat with Paige Thorne, 24.
As she admits it’s over for good after he kissed Cheyenne Kerr, 23, leading him to struggle to contain his emotions during their exchange.
During the clip he said: ‘F***ing hell. You mean so much to me, you know that? I wish I could finish my journey with you in here, but…’ as Paige cries, too!’
Jacques had been struggling to win back Paige’s heart after he kissed Cheyenne Kerr in Casa Amor before deciding to stick with his original partner.
He had said he would leave the show if she didn’t forgive him, hinting that his attempts to win her back had not gone as planned.
His family recently defended the backlash against him saying he has ADHD which means he struggles to contain his emotions.
Making the announcement on his social media, his family wrote in the caption: ‘Jacques was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 9 years old.
‘By no means is this a get out clause for his actions but it is to show that he can fundamentally struggle with his emotions at times.
‘He is an amazing person who I’m proud to call my friend/little brother.
‘All the hate thrown towards Jacques doesn’t go to him directly….It comes to his loved ones who have always supported him and not just whilst he is on Love Island.
‘Love Island, although real. Is still a show where the producers do have control and we see 45minutes out of the 1440 in 24hours. Please be kind♥️ .’
Jacques was left fuming on Monday’s episode after he learned that new bombshell Adam Collard had been ‘slagging him off’ behind his back.
In a dramatic episode, Jay Younger and Chyna Mills were dumped from the villa by their fellow islanders before Adam made his return to Love Island after previously ruffling feathers during his time on the show back in 2018.
Jacques was seen going for a chat with Paige Thorne after Gemma Owen told him: ‘He [Adam] has been proper slagging you off.’
Speaking to Paige in the garden, he said: ‘Has Adam been slagging me off? Who the f**k is he? He’s just another geezer who’s already been on the show. He’s f*****g nothing mate.’
During Monday’s episode, Adam entered the villa while the boys were away on a spa day and he immediately made a beeline for Paige to find out how her relationship with Jacques is at the moment.
Paige gushed over Adam’s physique, telling him he’s the tallest guy in the villa, before declaring in the Beach Hut: ‘He’s so fit. No I’m not going to lie, he is very fit.’
By the pool, Adam told her he is boyfriend material, explaining: ‘When I’m with someone, I’m 100% with them, I’ve never cheated on any ex-girlfriends or anything like that.
‘Coming off the back of this, everyone’s going to get loads of attention and I’ve been there and done it. I don’t need to get that out of my system like some guys do. I feel like some of the guys in here will want to that.
Paige replied: ‘100%. I’m not ready to train somebody else up to be a boyfriend. Like you’re either boyfriend material or you’re not.’
Adam asked: ‘What do you think Jacques will be like with me and you speaking?’
Paige: ‘I don’t think he’ll like it. I think he’ll be intimidated.’
Following her chat with Adam, Paige went over to Gemma and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu to ask what they thought about her getting to know him.
Gemma, who dated Jacques prior to Love Island, encouraged her to get to know Adam and to not feel bad about it, given Jacques infidelities during Casa Amor.
Gemma said: ‘You need to throw yourself in more to this. You’d be more than stupid [if you didn’t]. Please, please, please do not think about Jacques, just think about yourself. He didn’t think about you in Casa and I’m sorry, karma’s a b***h.’
Meanwhile, Jacques and Paige had shared their relief that the public had voted to keep them safe and he begins to open up to her.
Jacques told Paige he has something for her. He said: ‘I’ve got something to say to you.
‘I was in bed last night and I thought I wanna tell you, because sometimes I get flustered when we’re speaking so I just thought if I put it down for you, you might be able to listen to me.’
Jacques then pulled out his phone and reads his heartfelt message to Paige, explaining how he really feels.
In his letter, Jacques said: ‘From the first moment I saw you. I thought you were beautiful. I’ve never been so excited to take a girl home to meet my mum.
‘We were going from strength to strength before I fucked things up. If I could change it, I really would. I’ve been kicking myself for it ever since and I never want to hurt you again…
‘I honestly want no one else but you and I’m prepared to stick around until you tell me otherwise. Without you, my time wouldn’t be the same… I just hope we’re on the same page.’
The letter had seemed to have won Paige over as they shared a kiss and she invited him back into her bed, telling the girls he is ‘out of the dog house’.
