Jay Sean has released his latest song Happiness Days, as a refreshing reminder of positivity and priorities in the midst of the pandemic.
The song Happiness Days, is written and performed by Jay Sean; and is the artist’s most personally-penned piece of songwriting in his 20-year music career — favouring true feelings over fictional scenarios.
Taking to social media to promote the track ahead of its release, Sean posted the artwork for the song which sees a single yellow happy face surmounting multiple sad blue faces, alongside a lengthy and heart-felt caption that read:
“‘HAPPINESS DAYS’ cover art. The song is out in 2 days!! Happiness has always been an enchanting concept to me. It’s something I think about and talk about a lot. I’ve spent the last 20 years of my life on the road travelling the world, singing to people I have never met and we share this amazing moment of happiness and then we part ways. So much time spent at airports, people watching – they cry when they leave their loved ones at departures, and cry again (this time with joy) when they are reunited at the arrivals gate. Sadness at one gate, happiness at the other!
“I wonder what it is we spend most of our time doing and whether or not we spend enough time doing the things that actually make us happy. Most of our lives are spent working, sometimes in jobs that don’t really make us happy with people we never chose to work with. But the REST of our time – what are we doing with the time we DO get to control? The choices we do get to make. Who are we spending it with? How much of that time is spent doing things that bring us joy with people we love being with? That to me is the key to happiness. To spend more time doing the things we love with the people we love most.
“This pandemic made me think a lot, as I’m sure it did for a lot of us. I got to spend more time with my family and close loved ones then ever before and even tho the world was falling apart, I made it a point to remember what I DO have, not what I wish I had or what I wasn’t able to do coz of the pandemic. Social media can have you believe everyone is living a happy life. I think it’s more important to make sure your offline life is just as happy as your online life appears to be. Even if it’s just a few moments a day. Live in it. Soak it in. Sometimes that’s all we get, I try to make sure I enjoy it. That’s what this song is all about. Living in those little moments. Sean also took to Twitter to announce the release, alongside the tweet: well, it’s finally here- my new song “HAPPINESS DAYS” is out WORLDWIDE.
