Kareena Kapoor Khan begins countdown to ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ release; asks fans ‘Are you ready?’

Kareena Kapoor Khan kicked off her week by beginning the countdown to the release of her upcoming film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. Taking to her social media handle, the actress shared a couple of clicks as she headed out for the final leg of film promotions. “Are you ready?” The actress asked and went on to add, “God I so am… Three days to go Laal Singh Chaddha… 11th August 2022…”

Our cameras caught glimpses of the actress as she headed to the studios in a baby blue salwar suit and wore her hair down in loose curls. Bebo beat a rainy day in the city as she made her way from her vanity van to the studios. ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ that releases on Thursday, is a Hindi adaptation of the Oscar-winning Hollywood film ‘Forrest Gump’ starring Tom Hanks. The film marks Kareena’s reunion with Aamir, after starring together in ‘3 Idiots’.

In a recent chat, Aamir revealed why he chose to remake the Hollywood film. “Around 14 years ago, Atul Kulkarni, who is the writer of the adaptation, and I was talking one night. He asked me, ‘What is your favourite film?’, and I said ‘Forrest Gump’ is one of them. I named a few more also. But somehow, we got talking about this film and then the night got over,” he said.

He revealed that Kulkarni came back to him two weeks later with a screenplay for the film. “He said, ‘I have written an adaptation of ‘Forrest Gump’. At first, I started laughing. ‘Forrest Gump’ is such a classic you don’t want to even attempt a remake. Plus he’s done it in only two weeks. And this is the first script he has written. So, I didn’t take it very seriously. It was my folly actually that I didn’t take it seriously. I didn’t hear it until two years (had passed). The day I heard Atul’s narration, I just fell in love with it,” the star said in a statement.

“It was Atul’s adaptation that made me do it,” Aamir added.
