With 54 Punjab Police officials, Delhi Court allows Lawrence Bishnoi’s transfer to Punjab

A Delhi court Tuesday allowed the Punjab Police to take gangster Lawrence Bishnoi to Punjab so they can question him in the case registered to probe the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Describing Bishnoi as a key conspirator, the police said that his custodial interrogation is necessary.

“Considering the totality of facts and circumstances and also considering the seriousness of offences and gravity of allegations against the accused Lawrence Bishnoi qua murder of singer Shubhdeep Singh @ Sidhu Moosewala, the application seeking transit remand for one day is allowed till 15.06.2022 with direction to the IO/applicant to produce the accused before the concerned Court of Ld. CJM, Mansa, Punjab on 15.06.2022,” said Metropolitan Magistrate Umesh Kumar of Patiala House Court in the order.

Advocate Vishal Chopra appearing for Bishnoi opposed the Punjab Police application and said that there is a security threat. There is apprehension that Bishnoi may be “eliminated” if transit remand is granted, he informed
