Mark Zuckerberg’s group selfie is going viral because of memes

Co-founder and CEO of Meta Platforms, Mark Zuckerberg, is often in the news. And now, a group selfie taken by the billionaire is doing the rounds on social media and has become fodder for a meme fest online. Why, you ask? Well, read on to find out about it further.

Mark Zuckerberg announced the launch of Meta’s new store in California on April 25 along with a bunch of photographs. While sharing the pictures, Zuckerberg wrote, “Meta’s first store is opening in Burlingame, California on May 9! You can experience Quest 2 and project what you’re experiencing onto a big wall for your friends. It’s a great way to see how our products connect people today and get a sense of what’s coming as we build towards the metaverse.”

However, one of the pictures, which was a group selfie, has gone viral for all the wrong reasons. Along with the original photo, an edited version of it is also doing the rounds, triggering a plethora of reactions from netizens on Twitter. While some users resorted to calling him an alien and a robot, others defended him by saying that the selfie is edited.

“Mark Zuckerberg is an alien you can’t convince me otherwise,” a user wrote.

Another user commented, “Mark Zuckerberg’s fake alien picture is getting viral. This is the real one. Yeah, fine billionaires are weird, but I hate the spread of misinformation.”
