The 43rd People’s choice awards took place last night and a host of a-list celebrities attended the ceremony in Los Angeles.
The awards show celebrated the best in popular culture from 2016 with categories for movies, TV, music and social media. TV host Ellen DeGeneres made history as she picked up three awards yesterday giving her a total of 20 People’s Choice Awards overall.

Bollywood’s own Priyanka Chopra also added another accolade to her collection by winning the award for Favourite Dramatic TV Actress. The star won the award for her portrayal of Alex Parrish in the ABC drama series Quantico. Last year Priyanka also won Favourite Actress in a New TV series and became the first South Asian actress to win a People’s Choice Award. This year she showed off her humble side as she thanked her fans for their continuous support of her and her on-screen character via twitter and Instagram.

Youtuber Lilly Singh, otherwise known as Superwoman also won as she picked up the award for Favourite Youtube Star, a relatively new category. The online star has grown in success over the past few years and this may be a sign that 2017 will be an even bigger year for her.
