Netflix has announced it will release the highly-anticipated animated film Nimona, featuring the voice talents of Riz Ahmed.
Chloe Grace Moretz and Eugene Lee Yang also lend their voices to the cast of Nimona.
The streaming service partnered with Annapurna Pictures when production began early last year.
Nimona is adapted from the New York Times bestselling graphic novel by author and cartoonist ND Stevenson, who announced the news and shared a first-look on Twitter on 11 April:
Nimona’s always been a spunky little story that just wouldn’t stop. She’s a fighter…but she’s also got some really awesome people fighting for her. I am excited out of my mind to announce that THE NIMONA MOVIE IS ALIVE…coming at you in 2023 from Annapurna and Netflix 🤘 pic.twitter.com/wEZuM2sXTt

Moretz plays Nimona, Ahmed is Ballister Boldheart, and Yang is Ambrosius Goldenloin — characters that based on ND Stevenson’s novel about a shape-shifting teenager who might be the only one to help a knight accused of a crime he did not commit.
Nick Bruno and Troy Quane will direct the feature and executive producers are Robert L. Baird, Megan Ellison and Andrew Millstein.
Nimona will be available to stream on Netflix in 2023.
