Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ title won’t be changed under the pressure of trolling

Yesterday, there were reports that makers of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘Pathaan’ were considering a title change, following the trolling and negative feedback that the project has received online. ETimes reached out to a senior industry source who rubbished these reports and revealed that the makers were under no such pressure.

The source told ETimes, “There is no truth in rumours about title change of Pathaan. Infact, the makers are so confident about the title that they released John’s first look with the same title.” The source maintained that if the producers were indeed feeling the pressure of trolling and were considering a title change, they would have altered the film’s promotional strategy, but no such thing is happening.

‘Pathaan’, which is being directed by Siddharth Anand, also features Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles. The film is also going to have a crossover with Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger 3’, with both SRK and Salman slated to have cameo appearances in each other’s films.

Previously, the first looks of SRK and Deepika have created an impact online, this time around John’s rough and tough character is creating buzz online. ‘Pathaan’ is slated for release on January 25.
