Suniel Shetty Opens Up About Money

Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, who is also a successful entrepreneur, has opened up about his “relationship with money”. The actor, who started working at the young age of 16 at his father’s restaurant, said that his family had a very basic standard of living and he did not have any kind of luxuries.

Taking to his LinkedIn handle, Suniel penned a long note, where he narrated his story and explained how his parents taught him the importance of saving and building for the future. He said, “When I entered the entertainment industry and started earning a substantial income, I was wired to treat money in a similar way. There was the occasional temptation to succumb to the allures of a flashy lifestyle, but my middle-class values ensured that I looked at most money decisions from a long term lens.”

Suniel Shetty said that he and his wife Mana Shetty were fairly disciplined with how they went about their spending and investments. He said, “It helped immensely that Mana too had a similar mindset. We did indulge now and then on a few luxuries, but to date our wisest investments have been our homes and education for the kids. Mana & I prioritise long-term stability over short-lived extravagance.”

Suniel also had an advice for youngsters. He said, “Enjoy the benefits of financial success, but do it with humility and awareness of the greater good it can achieve in the long run. Plan it like you’re running a marathon.”
