Sushmita Sen reacts on Harnaaz Sandhu’s Miss Universe finale gown, reveals the ‘tightest hug’ awaits her

Sushmita Sen is one of the warmest and liveliest personalities in tinsel town. The 47-year-old, who lives life on her own terms, both personally and professionally was the first Indian to win the Miss Universe pageant in 1994. Till date, the diva remains one of the best known winners of the contest, along with Lara Dutta who won the crown, six years later in 2000.

Recently, Harnaaz Sandhu, who was crowned Miss Universe 2021 passed on the baton to Miss R’Bonney Gabriel of the United States. During her last customary walk as the reigning Miss Universe, the 22-year-old chose to walk the stage in a custom made gown, embedded with the images of Sushmita and Lara.

Taking to her IG, Harnaaz wrote, “It’s my purest honour and gratitude to represent my incredible country at Miss Universe. For my finale walk as Reigning Miss Universe, I couldn’t thank @officialsaishashinde and her team enough for making this dream gown come true! A huge tribute to these two incredible women from India you have been making our country proud since becoming Miss Universe. @sushmitasen47 and @larabhupathi , I truly adore you both a lot…this one is for you and INDIA❤️”

Now in an IG live that Sushmita conducted recently, she opened up on the tribute and said, “Yes, I saw her gown. I think it’s a beautiful tribute. I am waiting to give her a hug in person to thank her for it. Because she carried with her on such an important walk and moment…The legacy of her country. To see Lara and me there with her was like ‘yes’. So Harnaaz, if you are watching, the tightest hug awaits you in person, my darling. You made us proud and continue to make us proud. Thank you for that.”

Earlier Lara Dutta too commented on the same and said, “May you always shine bright like the diamond you are!! Stay your humble, amazing , strong self sista!!! Here’s looking at you kid!!!!! Good luck for all that’s yet to come! 🤗♥️🤗”
