The 2Weeks2make It competition is once again returning to the Midlands – bringing together musicians and filmmakers to create and produce music videos in just two weeks.
The 2Weeks2Make It is an original music video competition bringing together up and coming Midlands filmmakers with a musician or band from a wide range of genres to make a music video in just two weeks. No one knows who they will be working with in advance and are randomly paired up at the launch event on Friday 2nd June at the Midlands Arts Centre (MAC).
BritAsia TV is delighted to be supporting 2Weeks2make It to try and encourage talented British-Asian artists to get involved with the competition.
CEO of BritAsia TV, Tony Shergill, comments: “We believe that this competition will be an amazing opportunity for upcoming British-Asian artists to showcase their talents. We will also be on the judging panel at the event and are excited to see what the filmmakers and artists come up with creatively.”
The competition will bring together creative talent from both the film and music sectors of all levels of experience. The timescale tests their creative skills alongside decision making, teamwork and leadership – expertise they will need to be successful in their chosen career.
“At the launch event, there will be plenty of advice from guest speakers covering both the video production and music industries. Their tips and training and tips will be invaluable in helping teams make their video the best it can be,” explained competition organiser (and former winner) Carl Timms, “The videos are submitted by Friday 16th June following which all completed videos will be screened to a live audience and prizes will be awarded by a panel of experienced judges.
The competition is seeking free registrations of interest from filmmakers and musical artists from all around the region. All registrations will be assessed and a final line up announced from successful applications; selected filmmakers will be required to be members of the Producers’ Forum (£25 per annum), whilst for band and artists there will be an entry fee of £75 on selection in return for a completed music video.
