After the hit song ‘Hath Chumme’ with Ammy Virk, B Praak and Jaani, B Praak has gone solo to release ‘Masstaani’.
The song is a heart-wrenching, emotional love ballad about betrayal. B Praak gives the lyrics a powerful poignant quality with his deeply moving, soulful voice. There is no doubt that this will be meaningful for the broken-hearted fans out there.
The song is about a woman who has been betrayed by her partner, finding out that he actually has a wife and child. She refuses to become his ‘Masstaani’. This term regained the meaning of ‘mistress’ epic historical romance film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ (2015) directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, with Deepika Padukone starring as Ranveer Singh’s character’s lover, mistress and then, second wife.
Model Nimrat Ahluwalia features in the video as she faces the betrayal of her partner cheating on her. The story-line is interspersed with scenes of B Praak singing, against the apt backdrop of crumbling ruins, visually portraying the state of the woman’s relationship. With a strong narrative of her overcoming her lover’s betrayal and rejection, the video’s message is also very powerful. The end of the video cuts to her with her child, appearing happy and strong, and B Praak walking powerfully to the camera.
